> 1. If you want to add a Base Station to a specific network proceed to the **Networks **tab and click on the blue highlighted name of the mioty® network.
> 2. Now add a new Base Station to the network by clicking on the button labelled **+ Add Base Station. **
> 3. To register the Base Station, the EUI of the Base Station (16 hex digits, without dashes ) needs to be entered.
> 4. Finally, its location can be set up that can be defined in two different ways. Either by selecting a location on the map or filling out the required information to register the address manually.
> 1. **Map**
> Select any point on the map where you want to provision your Base Station by dragging the marker to another place on the map to update its location. If you have allowed your browser to obtain your location, it will auto-populate on the map.
> Additionally, users can change the **map layer** as shown above. The layer configuration for a given map is held within the ongoing user session on the NMS; when users log out and then log in again, a new session begins and all maps on the NMS UI are displayed in the default layer, which is *Map* (black, plain background).
> 2. **Manual Address**
> Select the country from the drop-down menu and define the name of the city, address and ZIP code.
>
>
> 5. The new Base Station has been successfully added to the network. It will initially be displayed as disconnected.
>
> > ℹ️ In order to establish a persistent connection between the Base Station and the NMS, a TLS certificate is required so that the connection is properly encrypted and authenticated. The connection setup is outlined in the following article: [Base Station Certificate](https://docs-loriot.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/NMS/pages/6032028).
